Courses in the Young Scholars Program are part of the University’s Summer Term. These courses follow University policies and procedures and are subject to change. The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or for other reasons it deems necessary.
Course Textbooks
Textbook requirements are posted by the instructor. Your course may or may not require a textbook, and you will need to periodically check the link below to see if the instructor has posted a textbook.

- Select the course/department acronym, e.g., ARCH for Architecture.
- Find the course you are registered for with the section number of “04YS”
- Select Books
Textbooks may be purchased from any textbook store or online vendor. For those students who have determined the need for a textbook, you may use one of the following campus resources:

- University Book Center
- Maryland Book Exchange
- Buying On Campus
The University Book Center (UBC) is located in the Adele Stamp Student Union, on the lower level. In the UBC, there is a textbook section with the books arranged in alphabetical order according to the department/course acronym (e.g., SOCY for Sociology). Find the area that has your course acronym. Look for the complete course title (SOCY105) and course section number (04YS). The course book will be shelved below this tag.
Course Grades
Grades and transcripts are not automatically mailed to the student.
Please refer to the Calendar & Deadlines for the exact date that grades will be posted.

You will be prompted for an SID and PIN in order to access the online system. Your SID is your Social Security number, and your PIN is your six-digit date of birth in the format mmddyy.
