CEUs

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The Office of Extended Studies provides campus units and non-University of Maryland affiliated organizations the opportunity to offer University of Maryland Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as an added value to employee development. The CEU is a nationally recognized measure of participation in an approved non-credit continuing education program. Professionals who successfully complete approved programs are awarded a certificate for University of Maryland CEUs.

Campus units and non-UMD affiliated organization must apply for University of Maryland CEUs. Follow the directions below:

1. Download and read the CEU Guidelines.
2. Complete the CEU Program Request Form.

All CEU programs must either be offered by a UMD unit or sponsored by a UMD unit. Organizations not affiliated with the University of Maryland must first submit a completed CEU Program Request Form. If your organization has not identified a unit in advance, Extended Studies will forward your request form to university units that, based on the completed Program Request Form, appear to be a good fit.
